MURAL - "DISCOVERY UNDER PRESSURE"
"Discovery Under Pressure" features an octopus and Alvin, the nation's only human-occupied deep-sea research submersible. The mural was completed serendipidously on Alvin's 50th Birthday - June 5, 2014. Alvin is owned by the U.S. Navy and operated by WHOI - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. WHOI shared our mural on their Facebook page on June 5, 2014, with the following message: "From the folks in Coatesville, Pennsylvania--the home of Lukens Steel, which made the first Alvin sphere--a mural commemorating Alvin's 50th anniversary. Thank you!"
